The Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence, St. John’s Rd., is a co-ed Hall of Residence and is the newest hall, opening its doors to students in the 2010/11 academic year. This residence caters for the changing needs of our students, providing them with a modern, safe living environment that facilitates the growth and development of all residents.
The Hall is situated on the North Campus of the St. Augustine Campus, five minutes away from the main campus and within close proximity to the Creative and Visual Arts Centre, School of Optometry, Hugh Wooding Law School, Nursing School El Dorado Campus, Family Development & Children's Research Centre and Open Campus Gordon Street.
The Hall consists of a total 375 rooms housing 450 students. The residence is fully gated with surveillance cameras monitoring, PA systems on all corridors and 24-hour security.
Students are provided with daily scheduled shuttle service to and from main campus and the Eric Williams Medical Complex. There is also daily shuttle service to the Hugh Wooding Law School and the Nursing School in El Dorado. While living on hall, you will have the opportunity to participate in university lead activities such as aerobic classes fitness activities at SPEC, hall events and other social events.
The Hall comprises of 7 blocks -6 undergraduate blocks with double and single occupancy rooms and 1 post graduate block with 39 self-contained apartments with air-conditioning
